Where can wisdom be found?

“But where can wisdom be found? Where does understanding dwell?” (Job 28:12)

 

Today’s message is about the wisdom and the understanding insight. Wisdom and understanding insight are the forces of living on the earth, and there is nobody who doesn’t know that. A problem many people have is that they don’t exactly know what wisdom and understanding insight are. Nevertheless, people define wisdom and understanding insight in their own different ways, and try to subjugate themselves to the definition. In the end, the thoughts and the way of life change different on account of each definition, and various ideas and cultures are produced out of the differences. Even god of same name, each person assumes the existence as a different object or image each other. There are many natural gods men define, such as sun, moon, stars, and the idea that man is god, animism meaning spirits embedded in all things.

 

There are also idols human serves such as gods of these; Philosophy and Idea, Sexuality according to aesthetics, Phallicism, Honor, Studies, and etc. Looking directly or indirectly at people’s life carefully, you’ll find a lot of things that you hadn’t known yet in the past. I make up my mind worrying about “How can I fulfill my duty of evangelism for them?” with thinking “Others’ hearts don’t feel same to mine!” And I have no choice but to pray this earnestly; “Lord, let me know more about life. Give me a strong faith to You. and I wish You to give me wisdom and understanding insight to get through life well.”

Job mentioned what wisdom and understanding insight people commonly boast of. For instance, it is a great ability of human science for man to mine gold, silver, copper from the ores, as well as to find hidden jewels from them. But the science and technology cannot give us true wisdom. There is an omnipotent God in front of us, and the wisdom and understanding insight which originate from Him makes our life truly beneficial and rich. This is the main contents of this Bible text.

Wisdom and understanding insight in full meaning cannot be found in humans by themselves. Even deep water or sea, which is the source of nature, cannot give us the wisdom and understanding insight. Also, you can’t get them even if you pay a valuable treasure. Then, where does the wisdom and understanding insight indeed come from, that is invisible to the eyes of all living things? Excessive followers of philosophy and science think that everything is possible by human head and hands. And materialists claim that the human spirit is a part of the material things. As we know, the idea of materialistic spirit is like a view in Stoicism the philosophy. For the Stoic philosophers with the idea, human spirit is like the waves of seawater hitting rocks. They think, just as seawater is a substance and waves are a variation of seawater, so the spirit is nothing more than a physical transformation.

Stoicism shows the basic content of naturalism, materialism, and rationalism. But Job said it clear that wisdom and understanding insight do not arise from such ones. Job’s point of view is really right. That doesn’t mean that the faith life is proceed without practical reality. Faith should be done by the practice combined of spiritual and physical. Only, that means that it is impossible to understand wisdom and understanding insight without realizing of spirituality. General people not in Jesus often say on them in one’s own way, although they don’t know the wisdom and understanding insight because of their ignorance of God.

The God of Christ, the Trinity, is the Almighty Creator and the Sovereign of the universe. Those who do not believe in God would like to present themselves as if they know everything though actually know nothing. In fact, if they have faith in God and know oneself, they wouldn’t insist like that. God sees always all over the world and governs all the natural phenomena. Everything we regard as a natural phenomenon or a coincidence, is wholly done according to God’s will and touch. Even the little things that are happening next to you now are the objects giving to you the teachings of God the Creator. It is the wisdom and understanding insight in general sense to know and follow such the fact.

 

Job said, “The fear of the Lord - that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.” in the Book of Job 28:28. The fear of Jehovah is the attitude of faith to God the Trinity. And evil is the situation of life away from God. Believing in Christ Jesus, the Son of God, and living for the gospel is the way to wisdom and understanding insight really. Don’t regard Jesus as one of great persons. He’s the Son of God, and also the Lord of the universe, as the written in John 1:3. Do live in praying to know Christ and His cross, and you will be really of wisdom and understanding insight.
